Make a globe.png in size of 162x162 and a brand of 162x20

Download Any File Using Default Nokia Browser

This trick will make your default nokia browser download any common files such as ( rar, exe, avi, wmv, wma, wav, mov, mpg, etc.. )

Just install corecodecplayer, then copy "coreplayer.ext" to C:\Data

Now open your default browser & try downloading any file and you will see that it can recognize the file for download.

Notes: 

- After the download started press "hide" quickly so that it will download from background

- When download is finished it will ask if you would like to "open" or "later". Just select "later" then select options\downloads then save to your desired location.

- If failed to press "hide" before downlaod finishes corecodecplayer will open the file and it will note as file not supported so you cannot save it in your MMC.. If so, just find the file downloaded in this location C:\System\dmgr\

Easy Method of Hacking N95 to Allow Installation of Unsigned Apps

Download these FILES first.

The 4 files needed are in this zip. 

STEP 1:

Install Y Browser on your phone.

STEP 2:

Install HelloCarbide.sisx.

STEP 3:

Connect Your phone using data transfer mode or PC Suite (via file manager) and copy the other 2 files (installer.exe and CProfDriver_SISX.ldd) to a directory somewhere on the phone (remember where!) I copied mine to E:\Hack

STEP 4: - READ CAREFULLY!!!

Open up Y-Browser
Hit the Menu key (so Y-Browser is still running in the background)
Run HelloCarbide from your applications folder.
Click options >> Menu1
--it will say->  Done....probably
Then click Yes
Go back to Y-Browser
Copy the 2 files mentioned in Step 3 to C:\SYS\BIN

Note: If you accidently exit Y-Browser before you have copied the files, you will have to turn your phone off and back on and repeat step 4.

STEP 5:

Once the 2 files are in the SYS\BIN folder, you can turn your phone off and back on and Voila! You will now be able to install unsigned apps like RotateMe, etc.

Downloading MAPS to your N95.

To avoid high internet charges from your service provider or slow download of maps while using it, download maps to your memory card/mass storage.

1. Go HERE and install both (Download Nokia Maps for your mobile device and Download Nokia Maps for your PC). You can also try the Maps 2.0 Beta HERE.
2. Run Maps on your phone first before opening anything.
3. For N95-1, you can take out your memory card and use a card reader. If that's not available, plug in your phone and choose 'data transfer' including N95 8GB but make sure you close every applications and games running including taskman (if installed) before plugging in your phone.
4. Open Nokia Map Loader.
5. Download and transfer maps needed।

I put all the maps in my N95-2 and took about 4GB of space.

Upgrading Firmware with NSS / Changing your product CODE

When firmware update is not available for your phone, you can change its product code so Nokia Software Updater (NSU) will detect your phone as update needed.

By doing this, you will void any warranty from Nokia so try at your own risk!

1. Download and install b-phreaks Nemesis Service Suite (NSS) HERE.
2. Open NSS.
3. Connect N95 to PC via USB cable and choose 'PC Suite' mode.
4. Click the little magnifying glass icon (Scan For New Device).
5. Click on the 'Phone Info' Icon.
6. Click 'Read'.
7. 'Enable' Product Code.
8. Change Product code and press 'Write'.
9. Exit NSS.
10. Run Nokia Software Updater (NSU).

When having problems with your phone

If you encounter any problem with your phone and can't find a fix for it, check if you have the latest firmware first - you might need an update. If problem persist do these following steps until it's fixed:

1. Perform a soft reset - *#7780#.
2. Do hard reset -*#7370#. Make a back up from PC Suite as this will delete everything (excluding your memory card/mass storage).
3. Reinstall your firmware.
4. If everything fails, you need to call Nokia or visit your nearest Nokia Service Center for repair or replacement.

Update your firmware!

1. First you need to know what firmware you're running by pressing *#0000# on the standby screen.
2. Check HERE if there is an available update for your phone.
3. Download Nokia Software Updater.
4. Make a backup of your phone as this will delete everything (not your memory card/mass storage). It's advisable to backup contacts and messages only to avoid problems when restoring it.
5. I suggest you take out the memory card before updating to avoid possible complications when the phone is booted up. Also, format your memory card as if everything is new.
6. Make sure you have a full battery and put your phone in General profile. You can also charge your phone while updating just to make sure it doesn't turn off while updating.
7. Open Software Updater and plug in your phone via usb. The Updater will detect your phone and will provide you the firmware needed.
8. Download will be 10-15 minutes depending on your internet's speed. Flashing it will take less than 5 minutes.

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT INTERRUPT ANYTHING WHILE UPDATING AS THIS WILL RESULT IN BRICKING YOUR PHONE!

Main reasons for Caller ID not to work

1. Duplicate entries in contacts - by FAR the most common cause and unfortunately, the most awkward one to fix.
If the phone finds the same number against more than one name, it doesn't know which to use so, perfectly sensibly, it defaults to showing the number.
The only way to fix this is to remove duplicates from your contacts. Best way to do this would probably be in Outlook on the PC, but assuming you can't do that, then you have to find the numbers that aren't working a use the LATEST version of the Nokia Search tool to find the duplicate entries:
NOTE: when you search, use PART of the number to avoid problems with formatting: searching for +441234567890 will NOT find +44 123 456 7890 whereas searching for 789 would.

2. Using your international dial code instead of '+'
Not sure if this applies to all phones, but if you store your number using your county's international dial code (eg: 004412345678990 - WRONG) instead of the '+' sign (+4412345678990 - RIGHT), it can cause problems.

3. "(0)" area code prefixes
Only a problem if you synch with MS Outlook. When you specify a country in MS Outlook, it will insert "(0)" into your phone number after the country code - while somewhere in Redmond, Bill Gates cackles - so +4412345678990 becomes +44 (0) 12345678990.
You need to remove the (0).

4. 9 and 10 digit numbers
There has been one report of problems with 9 and 10 digit numbers where one size doesn't work with SMS and the other with calls.
I think you know what you should resort to doing if still cant sort out the problem..re-update fw!

Deleting Themes in N95 that don't show in App Manager

You need to hook up your N95 to your PC via the USB lead and access the data transfer mode, and you need to make sure your file explorer can view hidden folders.

You'll find the theme files in a folder named 'Private', in this folder are lots of other folders.

Go to the folder named '10207114' and then enter the folder inside called 'Import'In here are all the themes on your sd card.

You have to open every folder and then look in the skn folder to find the name of the theme as the folders are named by numbers and not the theme itself, if the PC doesn't allow you to open the file then choose to open it with Notepad, then scroll across until you see the name of the theme and usually it'll say the creator's name too.

Once you know it's the theme you want to delete then you have to delete the whole folder including the mbm,mif,ini and skn folders.

Job done.

Note:
Format phone restores phone to as if it was out of the box. Retains firmware version and operator Variant changes but wipes all applications you have installed. Does not format the memory card so any apps on there may reinstall once powered back up again.

Factory Reset resets all settings to defaults but keeps any applications you have installed and photos etc. Both need the Security code, which, by default, is 12345.

Another way to format some symbian phones: Power off phone. Press and hold Green, * and 3 and keep them held whilst powering on and for a few seconds after, if kept pressed this formats without asking for Security Code confirmation.

Tips:
If your operator does not support normal SMS delivery receipts (like UK O2) put *0# at the beginning of a text message to get a receipt (the recipient will not see it)

12# (etc) in standby will dial the number held in location 12 on your SIM card address book.

When texting using T9 predictive text you can generate smileys by pressing the 1 key twice or three times and modify the smiley using the * key:

Pressing 1 twice :) then * :( > ;) > :* > .. > .. and so on
Pressing 1 three times :-) > :-( > ;-) > :-* > ... and so on.

The 0 key gives you a space, then 0, then a carriage return.

To mark items in a list, for deletion/moving/copying/sending etc., hold down the edit (pencil) button and scroll up or down using the D-Pad to tick the items in quick succession.

To see the time when the keypad is locked without unlocking, just press and release the power button.

You can use * when searching for contacts. D*n brings up Daniel and Dennis.
